By simply inputting one pulse on the STEP input the motor will take one step full, half, quarter, or eighth depending on two allebro inputs. A and B are the two coils of the motor, and can swap the two wires for a given coil it will just reverse the direction of the motor.
A3967: Microstepping Driver with Translator
This current-decay control scheme results in reduced audible motor noise, increased step accuracy, and reduced power dissipation. The ASLB is a complete microstepping motor driver with built-in translator.
M odifying a 5V 28byj step motor from unipolar to bipolar. Bipolar stepper motors always have only 4 wires. We default it to slow decay mode, but you can override with your own voltage on this pin. It is compatible with anything that can output a digital 0 to 5V pulse or 0 to 3.
Connect this to lalegro positive power supply lead. The ASLB includes a fixed off-time current regulator that has the ability to operate in slow, fast, or mixed current-decay modes. The EasyDriver requires a 6V to 30V supply to power the motor and can power any voltage of stepper motor.

This should be a 6V to 30V, 2A or more power supply that is clean low ripple. The sleep and enable pins are also broken out for further control.
The EasyDriver has an on board voltage regulator for the digital interface that can be set to 5V or 3.
They alkegro a dual H-bridge to drive them. Do not connect or disconnect a motor while the driver is energized. They will not have as much torque as bipolar motors due to thinner wire with a higher electrical resistance used in the coils bifilar windings.
